DUTIES: Contribute to the Technical Services Group which is responsible for Comcast's industry leading video, high-speed internet and voice services for consumers and businesses and for supporting the Spotlight Advertising Business; support the company's advertising initiatives by mining structured, unstructured, and transactional data and developing analytics that drive insights and strategies across linear and video-on-demand platforms; collaborate with management on current and upcoming projects, discussing data requirements and resource needs, and design effective approaches to working with all necessary data; develop and execute SQL and Hive queries to gather data from various databases, including Teradata, Hadoop, Oracle and Vertica; process large-scale datasets in order to clean, join and aggregate data according to established guidelines and parameters; perform advanced data mining, manipulation, and statistical analysis to identify and extract predictive elements; perform predictive analytics to determine effective and efficient advertising, targeting select segments, as well as providing Return-on-Investment predictions for new advertising strategies; build predictive models, including segmentation and propensity models, utilizing internal, external and third-party enhanced data; utilize various programming languages for development, including Python, R, Java, and SQL in a Linux operating system; participate in meetings with different business units, such as engineering, research, marketing, and business intelligence, to discuss, define, design, and deliver analytics that significantly impact both the company and its clients in the advertising industry; and develop and document standard requirements and methodologies for analytics.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with two (2) years of experience performing data analytics with structured and unstructured data, utilizing Hadoop, SQL, Oracle, and Vertica.
