Summary

Looking for IT candidates with enthusiasm for new and innovative IT technologies wanting join Comcast's fast-growing Product Development Engineering team! The Product Development team guides the creation of new products and services for our expanding Comcast Business market.

This position is for the Lead Architect focused on the development and integration of managed and virtualized network services (WiFi, Firewall, UTM, Analytics, etc) into the new Comcast Business ActiveCore SDN platform.

Candidate is responsible for researching, designing, planning, developing, and/or evaluating new, advanced technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design.

Works with engineering, marketing, customer service, and engineering support to develop detailed design, project plans, and product launch.

Core Responsibilities:

- New technology validation and prototyping

- Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization (SDN/NFV) ecosystem development and vendor management

- Strong Architectural Leadership in areas of applications, virtualization, network and security with SDN/NFV working experience; preferably a blend of data networking (including managed WiFi), cloud virtualization, and data security technologies

- Knowledge in End-to-End architecture of multiple platforms, including (but not limited to): Cloud/Managed WiFi solutions (such as Ruckus/Meraki/Mojo) and Managed Security Solutions (such as Fortinet/Palo Alto/Juniper firewalls)

- Experience with Service and NFV orchestration (such as ETSI MANO, ONAP, etc)

- Good Virtualization knowledge on Linux/KVM and VMware vSphere

- Experience with Docker and container management frameworks (Kubernetes, Mesos, Rancher)

- Experience with API's and systems integration solutions

- Solid experience with designing and deploying security solutions for Network Access Control and mitigating Cyber-Security Threats

- Deep knowledge and experience with the security stack from companies like Fortinet, Palo Alto and Juniper

- Experience with various forms of Network Access Control, Directory Services and AAA

- Knowledge of web & application filtering tools

- Knowledge of virtual machine-based next-generation firewalls (NGFW)

- Experience with large scale managed Wireless LAN deployments, especially cloud-based WiFi platforms (such as Ruckus, Meraki, Mojo)

- Experience in WiFi backend platforms, analytics and location based services (such as: SPoT, vRIOT, SCI, CMX, MSE, Bloom, Purple, etc)

- Experience in 802.11 WiFi standards

- Provides consultative services within the organization and externally

- Recommends courses of action, technology, technical solutions, long term vision, and vision for future product growth

- Provides leaderships in various manners as an expert in each of the fields

- Develops state-of-the art solutions to maximize on technology and business applications to hence current products

- Translates customer requirements to system (and functional) specifications, providing the key guidance for the design team's functional implementation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

- Reviews and plans the organization's long-term technology needs long term based on business goals

- Identifies trends, services and/or capabilities that may be beneficial to product offerings

- Participates consultatively in the testing and certification process as needed

- Contributes to architectural and system design reviews. Contributes to Company's intellectual property in the form of patents

Job Specification:

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent

- Engineering, Computer Science

- Generally requires 15 years related experience
