Program Overview

The Comcast Center Cooperative Internship Program (Co-op) is a six-month internship program based in the greater Philadelphia area. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers.

Additionally, your experience will include:

- Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your cooperative experience.

- Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.

- Professional Development: Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions include speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

- Mentorship: Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program (EFLP) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network.

- Fun: Continuously develop relationships with fellow interns through social activities, community building, and networking.

Role Overview

Comcast Corporation empowers our communities by investing in local organizations, developing programs and partnerships, and mobilizing our resources to connect people and inspire positive and substantive change. The Community Investment department is responsible for managing Comcast's Foundation, Employee Engagement Initiatives, National Partnerships and Financial Giving.

The main goal of the Employee Engagement and Volunteerism team is to inspire volunteerism and service within the employee population. This is done by expanding Comcast's two flagship programs, (the Employee Giving Campaign and Comcast Cares Day), defining and engaging employee audiences, providing year-round opportunity for service, and partnering with different parts of the company.

Co-op duties to include, but not limited to:

-Work closely with other Community Impact teams, such as Communications, Financial Giving, and Partnerships to create seamless experiences for employees

-Act as a key member of the team to plan and execute all components of Comcast Cares Day, the largest single-day of corporate service in the world

-Assist in design of high-impact communications designed to drive engagement with and participation in Community Impact Employee Engagement Programs

-Take ownership of and improve creative communications

-Edit and proof internal and external Employee Engagement print communications

-Demonstrate the ability to work on large-scale campaigns and projects with concurrent deadlines

-Act as a key corporate contact for the various Employee Engagement coordinators that we work with all over the country

-Maintain and leverage relationships with internal and external business partners to improve Community Impact programs

-Assist with domestic and international event coordination

-Document issues and problem-solving recommendations as part of "best-practices"

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

-Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States- based college or university that has a 6 month Cooperative learning track

-Major: Communications, Marketing, Business/Finance, Sociology & English majors preferred, but all are welcome to apply. This position touches various aspects of the business that utilizes multiple skill sets. Great for a versatile applicant.

-Minimum: 3.0 GPA.

-Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook

-Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Access or MailChimp is a plus, but not required

-Must have excellent time management and verbal/written communication skills

-Ability to work closely with others on a team.

-Must have great attention to detail and organizational skills

-Must have ability to interface with all levels of management

-Open to learning various aspects of the business

-Must be able to work evenings (when necessary)

-Experience with event coordination preferred

-Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.

-Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required

-Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries.

-A passion for volunteer work, service and desire to improve the lives of others is ideal
