Job Summary:

As a member of the West Division Sales and Marketing Analytics Team, this position is responsible for the leading Sales Channel Performance analytics and forecasting. Analyzes performance and communicates findings and recommendations to influence sales strategies. Benchmark sales channel performance across Locations, Teams, and Sales Representatives with a focus on identifying best practices and areas of opportunity. Develops bottoms-up sales channel connect forecasts, budgets, and targets. Knowledge of retail sales operations and metrics, compensation, commission plans, and expense implications is a plus. Develops process and procedures to drive department efficiencies. This role requires the ability to work on a blank canvas with little guidance to come up with rational approaches to solve analytical problems. Strong SQL and Excel data modeling skills are required. Less than 15% of the job involves running routine reports. The bulk of role involves creating new analyses/forecasts, and interacting the sales leaders or other team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Lead monthly forecast process. Use business knowledge and rational analysis to influence sales leaders and other stakeholders on how to accurately forecast performance.

-Develops annual sales budgets

-Expertly writes SQL queries and performs ad hoc analysis against large databases.

-Prepare, analyze, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reporting/analysis

-Prepare and ensure timely and accurate load of Sales Channel Connect forecasts and budgets

-Provide analysis to evaluate/validate Sales Channel connect forecasts, budgets, and targets.

-Works independently to come up with rational and defendable approaches to solve analytical problems.

-Able to work with other organizations to reconcile differences in approach and drive common understanding.

-Lead and participate in the creation of analytic/tracking reports to help provide insight, measurement and sales strategy.

-Benchmark sales channel performance across sales representatives, regions, and divisions with a focus on identifying best practices and areas of opportunity.

-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

-Occasional travel to other office locations

Core Responsibilities:

-Tracks and manages marketing expenses in order to ensure that they are within budget parameters.

-Manages local promotions and event marketing; coordinates with direct sales staff.

-Translates business needs into analysis designs providing insight, knowledge, and understanding of customers, products, and industries.

-Develops and maintains demographic and other market data as needed in order to support marketing goals.

-Gathers and communicates marketing campaign information and subscriber feedback in order to promote a common understanding of marketing campaigns, changes, and issues.

-Analyzes subscriber numbers and packages and revenue to determine performance compared to budget.

-Develops financial models in designing packaging and pricing to ensure competitive position in market.

-Creates reporting to measure success of marketing programs.

-Assists with maintaining and improving ongoing marketing programs, analyses, and reports.

-Develops new ideas and communicates potential uses for analytics across the business.

-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Job Specification:

-Bachelors Degree or Equivalent

-Generally requires 6-9 years related experience

Additional Requirements:

-Must be expert in building Forecast and Analytical Models in Excel. Must be able to manage large datasets in excel.

-Must have solid SQL experience writing queries against large databases including ability to write: subqueries, join tables, case statements, cast data types and other functions.

-Must have creativity to come up with logical approach to solve new analytical problems, and communication skills to explain/defend the recommendations.

-Must be self-starter who is comfortable working independently in blank space.

-Needs strong influencing skills and ability to work in matrixed environment. Process improvement experience is preferred.

-Excellent oral and written communications skills are necessary to interface effectively with management, co-workers and various other internal and external customers.

-Database administration experience is plus.

-Experience with BI tools: Tableau, Cognos, and Wave analytics preferred.

-Practical experience in CSG billing system is plus.

-Experience with Essbase is plus (building models, loading forecasts)
